Biography:
Jason Voorhees is a central character in the Friday the 13th horror film franchise. He is primarily known as a silent, hulking figure who methodically murders anyone who crosses his path near Camp Crystal Lake.
Jason's first physical appearance in the franchise was in Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981). While he appeared in a dream sequence at the end of the original Friday the 13th (1980), the character was portrayed by Ari Lehman as a deformed child, and not the adult killer the franchise became known for.
His primary weapon of choice is a machete, and he is usually depicted wearing a hockey mask, which became iconic with the release of Friday the 13th Part III (1982). He has been portrayed by numerous actors throughout the film series.
In the 2009 remake, Friday the 13th, Jason is depicted as more resourceful and familiar with the woods surrounding Camp Crystal Lake.
